Built for the People Standard Care Left Behind
Bishop Health exists for a specific moment: when you've done what you were told — the medication, the weekly therapy — and you're still not well.
One Office, Deliberately
Bishop Health is a single-location outpatient mental health and interventional psychiatry practice at 100 Gannett Drive in South Portland. That's a choice, not a limitation: one clinical team, one record, and every level of care — from weekly therapy to PHP, from a first prescription to advanced interventional treatment — under one roof.
The practice was built around treatment-resistant conditions because that's where the gap in Maine was widest. Advanced options like TMS and Spravato existed — but mostly in Boston, mostly out of network, mostly out of reach. We brought them here, and we take MaineCare.
Our clinical philosophy fits in a sentence: take the history seriously, say what's true, and match the treatment to the person — not the person to the schedule.
Part of Guardian Recovery
Bishop Health is part of the Guardian Recovery family of behavioral health providers — we'd rather tell you that plainly than let third-party directories define it.
In practice it means depth behind a small office: shared clinical standards, and true sister programs in Portland — Pine Tree Recovery Center and Southern Maine Recovery — for patients whose primary need is substance use treatment.
